Hi! I’m Jessica Threet. I’m an actress living currently in New York City. I am originally from Huntsville, AL, "The Rocket City" we call ourselves. I received a Bachelor Degree in Theatre with a Music and Dance Minor from Troy University before moving to the Big Apple.
I have always loved theatre, since I honestly can remember. My mother owned a dance studio growing up, and I would steal her CDs of Broadway soundtracks and listen to them on repeat until every word was memorized. I did the same for the old VHS tapes too. I was involved in my first theatrical production, however, when I was a freshman in high school at Grissom High with their production of Footloose. Throughout my high school years, my passion for the arts grew. In addition to my dance training, I added classes in theatre and vocal lessons with Luz Tolentino Ladrillono. I was fortunate enough to receive accolades and leading roles my junior and senior year.
Attending Troy University, I had the opportunity to play many leading roles in my four years of school. Along with this, I had the pleasure of working with theatre companies across the country during the summer thanks to
"I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms. The most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being."
- Oscar Wilde
SETC. This is where I worked with Flat Rock Playhouse and performed many shows with them including RENT, The Producers, and Hairspray. Graduating Magna Cum Laude, I then set my sights to New York CIty. Since moving here I have had the pleasure working with many local companies and productions as well as getting to be on the Premiere Tour of Paw Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue with Nickelodeon playing one of the beloved ‘pups’ Rocky. Other productions have included The Wild Party , Ragtime, Antigone, and Miracle on 34th Street.
I am so very grateful to my friends, family, teachers, directors, choreographers, crew, fellow castmates, and all of those in between that have shaped me into who I am today.
Audiobooks: I'm currently recording the sequel to Rebecca Thorne's Can't Spell Treason Without Tea, titled A Pirate's Life for Tea! It's an incredible story, and I can't wait to y'all to hear it!
Videogames: Still recording my final audio for Ride the Lion's game version of Michael-Scott Earle's Tamer: King of Dinosaurs. I had the awesome privilege to film the MOCAP for this last September (2023) in Thailand, and now we are getting close to wrapping!
